Title: Asking for favor

Rellikki - September 15, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Greetings, :ph43r:
Your staff member NBSVieiraPT suggested me that I should ask this on your forums...
I was wondering if you could help me with my personal addon projects (Click me for more information). It shouldn't be a hard job for an experienced 3D modeler, as I thought on that forum thread... The only things that I really need are the top two ones - the optional ones are... well, optional. Not that necessary.
As a reward, I could give a hand to you on texturing (my speciality is units).
Tell me if you're interested!

ObmaR - September 15, 2007 07:47 PM (GMT)
Ok I can do all 4 for you, no problem. Just send me pics of exactly what you want and I will have them ready in 2 days. You want them for the BIS sample soldier model? Will do the UV templates (What size you want and is it a template per model or all in one?). Will make them in all lods as per BIS Model, you just copy and paste them in O2 onto the model.

Just let me know, send pics (important) and I will do it right away (2-3 days)

Rellikki - September 15, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
Thanks.
Yeah, base them on the BIS sample model, as I based my units on it too. And it would be also good if you could do all the UV mappings on the same texture, unless you run out of space. Any size is fine, can be even 2048 pixels.

Some OFP shots of it:
Here and here.

On the second though, the helmet isn't needed.
Tell me if you need more pics and I can try to search harder... I'll be still looking for better pictures of the RPG Rucksack.

ObmaR - September 15, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Ok simple job. The RPG ammo pack does not look like the picture. I know how it looks so will make one based on the real model. We used them in the 1980s to carry 3 rockets. There was the back (Rucksack version) and the front (Craddle version).
Give me a couple of days and will post them to you.

Rellikki - September 15, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
Sounds good. I'll be waiting then. :)

ObmaR - September 18, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
Nearly done, just bussy with the UVs.I've made each one as per the BIS model's LOD (6 LODs). You will have to do the textures. I've also applied an .rvmat file to the models you need to do the .smdi and .nohq textures. Will put it up for download tomorrow night.

Rellikki - September 19, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
Alright. Looking forward to it.

ObmaR - September 19, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
one small question...

A- Do you want to paint the shoulder straps for the bag on the soldier

or

B- Do you want me to make the straps

option "B" might have the problem of straps not always being visible when soldier moves.

Rellikki - September 19, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
I'll paint them. ;) I'm using the same method for the units' chestrigs so it shouldn't be a problem.

ObmaR - September 19, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
OK, sorry for the delay had some urgent personal work to do. Will post them up for you to download late tommorrow night so Friday they will be available for you to download.

ObmaR - September 20, 2007 11:27 PM (GMT)
Hi mate,

Your request is up for Downloading, please check you PM.

I did them in all lods and added the .rvmat file. All textures are on 1 template. The .nohq and .as for the .rvmat files I did a rush job to see how the rpg bag looked. Also made quick textures for the others. You will have to re-texture them to your liking. Just copy and paste them onto the soldier model and adjust the position. Hope you like them...

Hello,
Many thanks. Let me know if you need a hand in texturing infantry addons, and I'll see if I can help as a favor.

Rellikki - September 21, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
Just had a look at the models. I think they are perfect. Fits really my needs and they were just like I excepted them to look like. Thanks!

ObmaR - September 21, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
no problem mate, glad you like them. The bandana took me a while because if its not modeled right it just does'nt look like a bandana. You just keep helping NBSVieiraPT with BETA Testing our missions and that will be enough for me. Anything else you might need in future just ask.

Rellikki - September 23, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah, actually, if you could... I'd also like a model of a field cap.

thats an easy one. Just give me a couple of days as I'm finalizing some add-ons for release on the weekend. Will have the cap for you on thursday.

Rellikki - September 25, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
Alright, thanks. You're very kind! :)

ObmaR - September 30, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
sorry man, just had this release to complete. I am busy with your request and it will be up tomorrow night (Monday Night) for you to download. Will send you the link in a PM.

ObmaR - October 5, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Took a little longer than expected, due to the releases, site update etc. I made the cap exactly as in the pic you sent. Includes .rvmat as well as a .psd. Hope you like it.

Check your PM for the link

That's nothing. My internet wasn't working in the last two days anyway and I've been a bit busy anyway.

Hmm can't see anything in my PM folder...
