Title: General excitement
Ou Matroos - July 25, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
Hi there all
I must admit i am really starting to look forward to the first release of this mod! It will be great to create missions with vehicles and units that some of us are fimiliar with. At present i must admit i find the current armed assualt a bit boring as there is not much scope to have various types of mission. I think part of this is i am so bored with yankie models.
the part that gets me is that there are no exciting models, unlike having a couple of kaspirs and buffels chasing down some terrs or even better the k cars coming in in fast and low to drop of troops in a sweep operation.
hopefully we will see the selous scouts and Rhodesians C squadron in action in due course. in the lovely bushveld and doring bossies with the boabab trees.
Or being able to call in the g6 artillery units for covering fire, not mention the flossie dropping the bats in enemy area, to blow the odd bridge of two

Thats the whole idea. End of the month will start hosting the first beta models for testing and to show the quality of our work. The soldier models we will have to wait till the Oxygen 3D tool is released so we can make mod specific models as retexturing ArmA models just won't be representative of the SADF.

Wow, great to hear!
that means in some days we will able to play your great mod. :)
ObmaR - July 27, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
Well, just test them actualy. We still have a while to go before the first official release. What I am going to do is release some betas for testing by the commuity as well as to show our work. This will give us time for the official tools to be released. Once that happens we can finish outstanding addons eg. soldier units finalise the rest of the add-ons, Ebud can complete the map and we can release the first version of the mod. :D

Wow, ObmaR,
great work on the copper! :o
ObmaR - July 28, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
Thanks raptor, you can start to fly it on Monday. Need you guys to test all our beta releases and to report bugs as well as suggest improvements. We want to fix everything prior to our first release. I want the mod to be ready for MP games with anti-cheat and no bugs. :D

@Werty
There is a Beta Add-ons thread, your comment is duly noted and I will fix that up. Armour value = 60 but will bring that down to 40

Well there does seem to be much excitment with the latest release of the alouette II & III
Here is what some people within the Arma community had to say:
BIS Forums:
the_shadow : the choppers are very nice though, even if i think that the Alouette III with FNMAG has a bit high rate of fire...
MEDICUS: Just tested the Aluette II & III a bit in the editor. This is just awesome! The handling is like a charm. Really great work!
Great work!
Keep it up.
honchoblack: Looking forward to the mod alot, seeing the team lineup this should become one of the highlights for ARMA. In my eyes this will become the Tonal successor for ARMA (Go Ebud Go ).
The mods theme is very interesting and I always waited for the OFP Bushfire mod, that unfortunatly never saw the light of day for the general public. The conlict is so full of opportunities for mission making, with variety warranted through the length of the conflict alone.
Edit:Will you be making african civilians, specially a woman model? An african conflict always had tons of civilians running around. I dont know about the BushWars, but in other african conflicts they also took up arms (Liberia).
[WWS]WarWolf : AlouetteII - what can I say ? Beautifully made aircraft!
And I only just now noticed the new AlouetteIII addon.. Hadn't seen it 'advertised' anywhere else?
Good Job on these - they are great.
Well it has definitely got people talking and starting to take notice- which is fantastic !!!
Bravo Zulu !!

We just want this to be one of the top ArmA mods and carry that reputation to ArmA II. I am also speaking to another well known OFP modeler, MiG (Colonial Wars Mod) to join the team and it seems positive. So pretty soon we will have a top team making a top mod.
Like some members quoted, there is plenty scope in an African Conflict for mission makers. So lets give them an African War Mod to make those missions.
also lets not start our,
VICTOR, VICTOR !!!
celebrations yet as there is still a lot of work ahead
and plenty
TANGO, FOXTROT !!!
to make
ObmaR - September 30, 2007 10:33 PM (GMT)

we are getting there now just gotta find some...
TANGOs !!
that almost looks like a photo and I hear that in ArmA II the scenes are as close to real as they can get... next thing I'm going to need members to make scorpions and those damned "Red Roman" spiders... remember them... :D just joking
