The GUI looks good. I just worry that with the map and the image behind it, the GUI could look a little busy. Will the company banners correspond to menu options - i.e. C Coy's banner might link to the Mission Editor, etc.?

Hi helfish6, long time no hear. That is my aim, want to make it a complete Bush Wars theme including the GUI menu. I am busy designing the Gui (It just looks a bit bright, I might make it a bit darker) will look at including unit flashes as menu items as soon as its complete will put it up for Beta testing and then will make the neccesary changes etc. :D

I really like it. And yes, a bit too bright ;)

that is what the team and I intend with the mod... to bring the thrill of combat, the experience of the equipment used, execute guerrila tactics, trek the African bush and reccing for the enemy. Being able to do all this without physicaly getting killed by terrs, landmines. mosquitos, snakes skorpions, tropical diseases etc. etc. etc.

Oh man, I love computers !!! :D

Ou Matroos - June 28, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
But nothing will be able to simulate the taste of a braai, biltong and cold beer

Do you thin there will doring bossies as well cuase i can remember them

ObmaR - June 29, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
Yea! I miss South Africa, the braai and the African bush smell. Here they call it B-B-Q, wtf is that and where do I get the booreworse?! I have been educating Ebud as he is doing the map. Told him that the African bush consists of 3 things; the acacia tree, devil thorn bush and elephant grass. Without them... well you just aint in Africa.
Oh, and those damned mosquitos that bit through your webbing to suck your blood.

I was Sigs, Army Gym. Hidelburg 1982, did my service as a 2nd Lieutenant at the Ondangwa AFB Radar/Comms facility. Used to teach the PF's how to use the computers. Was the "Porra" comper boffin as they called me. This was when uncle Bill Gates introduced DOS to the world. The PF's used to mess me around and say "Luitenaant kan jy my help met hierdie does!!" they were refering to MSDOS.

Guys, gotta give me some time to reply. Am busy getting add-ons ready for beta release. To make the GUI I redrew the map using lines on a transparent background in photoshop. Took the photo of a 32 patrol, applied a paint filter and blended the 2 using layers. Thats it simple and straight forward. The final GUI will be a little darker with a few more unit shoulder flashes.

Raptor - July 10, 2007 07:38 AM (GMT)
Ah ok, hmmm only a photoshop work.
Ok thanks for your reply Obmar. :)

I also want to try to create such GUI, but I don't know how to get it ingame or to create such GUI.

We are very busy at moment...I am sure we will be able to help you at a later stage :)

ObmaR - July 10, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
The GUI basicaly becomes the static background to the ArmA menu interphase replacing the intro you normaly see. When I release the GUI you can then view the config. Its only 2 lines of code that are edited. Very easy actualy once you see how I did it.

Raptor - July 11, 2007 09:34 AM (GMT)
ok, thanks. :)

Also just recieved a demo of original songs from a Dutch composer to be used with our GUI, map intro and missions. Realy excellent, thanks Henk. You guys will be able to hear the first couple of songs with the release of the mod including the Angola Island... release date to be anounced later this year
