Title: Firebelt

Vorster - January 11, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
Mods,

I am trying my hand at some scripting. I want to do a firebelt (Vuurgordel) script for the armor in BWM. This tactic was used heavily during the ops in 87/88 by the tankers to either surpress or take down large numbers of enemy units.

For the suppresion bit I have a nice little script for this done by antti hankonen which will work super along with a nice bit of artillery scripting. The second part will have the tanks just draw up in line and take down enemy units they can see.

I am planning to add real command sound clips for the fire belt I have on tape here. (Alle stasies die is 0 1 Alpha vuur gordel!) :D

I am also planning a pre planned fire script and a simple artillery script to call in rounds from whatever gun is dedicated to fire support.

I have a question though will you ous be updateing the weapons and ammunition classes for your addons or will they use the vanilla ArmA classes? For instance will the ammo for the G5 simply be 30Rnd_105mmHE_m119?

I will also addapt a script from Mr. Murray to allow Fapla to give us a pasting as well. This will include the dreaded Ratel Eater or ZSU 23/2.

I can't wait till your full mod is out as I want to build some historic battles to try my hand at.

The different Bush Wars addons will each have their own class of ammo and I will try and keep it as accurate as possible. I do Have a G5 I am bussy with, it is still in the early stages but I will finish it for the main Mod release... here are O2 screens of the G5

I will finish it in the cammo scheme used during the Cuito Cuarnavale Campaign during Ops Hooper when the now famous radio calls by the Reccies who kept an eye on the Cuito Cuanavale airbase "Victor, Victor" (Vyandelike Vliegtuig) was called to warn SADF bases of enemy aircraft in the air. They also called for G5 strikes on the airfield from Artillery possitions 45 Kms away when there where aircraft present at the base. I will add a recoil script as well as some other custom animations.

Bevange G5. The Victor Victor was to warn our guys. Debugging the script now will give it to Falcon and Ou Matroos to test before I send it out to the rest.

This is what i found (with google, tomorrow i will serch for a video, if it's one):

PDF Document 2,18MB
Until now, the best file. It looks like a manual or a company pamphlet or something like that, because i have one of those "company pamphlet" form Fabricaciones Militares about a FAL.

And here a little video:

Sorry for the music , that's what i found.

Note: In that video the recoil is low because the used a zone 1 charge. Or that is what the Lav1lle's comment says.

Hmm got mucho gen on the G5 and what I don't have I will get from my buds at 4 Art Regt. I have some pics I took a while ago of a G5 firing with zone 1 on low trajectory. Recoil is very long.
