See representative forces are being made, the Eland 90 in its various incarnations was the main armoured anti-tank force in the early days. It far outserved the Ratal 90.
The same goes for the Eland 60 which is not modeled at all.
In 1987 ops Modular, night vision equipment was installed on Eland 90's and ratal 90's for the first time. Up until then, the eland and ratal '60's were use to provied lighting for nighttime operations.
And if memory serves me correctly the ratal 90 did not carry troops but extra ammo.
I see you have also not modeled the ratal equiped with a milan anti tank missile.
This first saw service in Modular as well.
The hand held automatic grenade launcher did see active service in ops Modular as well.
Served with One Special Services Battalion, 1986-1988.
Was serving with 10 Panzer car regiment when they first issued night sight equipment to us. we hand never used it before embarking on ops Daisy which would form part of the greater operation modular.
The Milan was definately in use, were joined by 101 soldiers who were active in the East. They laughted at our little 90mm canons and regaled us with stories of the Ratals with the missiles.
Also deployed at that stage was the Ratal 81, a ratal fitted with an 81 mm motar in the centre of the hull.
Thank you for the info and advice. This was after my NS (1982-1984). I've gotten hold of some very good pics and blueprints of the Eland90 and 60 and will add them to the mod. Our mission makers will be making historical missions as well at a later stage, so any input, advice, personal experience etc. is more than welcome
