Endless Summer story by Jill Campbell
A fresh team of hotties jumps on board for Blue Water High's new seasonSurf's up at the Solar Blue Academy, with favourite faces returning for another year, along with six talented new competitors with their sights set on a surfing career.
Although she won last season's competition, Fly (Sophie Luck) returns to residential surfing school after her parents decide she's too young to compete in the pro circuit. Heath (Adam Saunders) accepts the job of "big brother" to the new recruits, but whether or not he's up to the task is another matter.
Simmo (Martin Lynes) is back as coach but, without Deb (Nadine Garner) around, he finds himself stretched to the limit mentoring his class as they struggle to settle into their new lives. Together, the teens will ride the exciting wave of finding romance, losing tempers - and having the time of their lives!
Riding the WaveMeet the new class of Solar Blue surfers
Amy ReedBright, bubbly Amy (Gabrielle Scollay) likes to ensure that she - and everyone around her - is having a good time. With her sunny good looks and charming nature, this one's used to getting what she wants.
Gabrielle on:Her Castmates: "I'm living with James and Taryn, but we're not there much. Taryn, she's hilarious... Trent's a real country boy, Lesley's a city girl, James is nice (and) Ryan's a prankster."
Studying on Set: "Ryan, Sophie and I are doing distance education. Ryan and I are doing one subject - lately we haven't had much time to study... I'll just do year 12 over again."
Mike KruzeBefore joining Solar Blue, this multilingual, globetrotting teenager spent nine months of every year in France, and the other three on Phillip Island. Confident and stubborn, Mike (James Sorenson) is a fearless surfer, but he's a bit shy when it comes to girls.
James on:Similarities with Mike: "Sport-wise, I always try my best. I used to speak French and I've travelled the world - but I can't speak three languages!"
Being on
Blue Water High: "There are a lot times when we've been out surfing and just go, 'Wow, we're getting paid to do this!'"
Corey PetrieCorey (Trent Dalzell), who comes from a farming family, is no stranger to hard work. Always looking to get an edge over the competition, Corey is intrigued by the science of surfing - to the point where he can be oblivious to those around him.
Trent on:Previous Acting Experience: "I had a one-day spot on
Home and Away, and I did a Kool-Aid ad and a Val Morgan cinema ad."
Auditioning: I cast in the first season for the part of Heath and missed out! I re-cast for the second season and, three castings later, I got it!"
Brooke SolomonBrooke (Lesley Anne Mitchell) is passionate about being the best surfer she can be, and her willpower extends to her strict, low-carb diet. She's a tough competitor, but a softie when it comes to loved ones.
Lesley on:Life Before the Show: "I'd just finished my HSC, so I got (the role) straight out of school. I also did commercials - the government anti-drug campaign was the biggest."
Walking Around in a Bikini: "At first, I was very self-conscious, but you get used to it. It's nothing now."
Rachel Samuels"Wild child" best sums up Rachel (Taryn Marler). She loves snowboarding, abseiling and, of course, surfing - and intends to live life to the full. Even if she doesn't qualify for the pro-surfing circuit, she'll travel the world.
Taryn on:Getting the Part: "I was at schoolies' week when I got the call. I started jumping on the bed - I was so excited!"
Similarities with Rachel: "I love doing adventurous things and having a good time. She doesn't care about what she wears, but I love dressing up! I wouldn't wear anything Rachel wears."
Eric TannerThis motor-mouthed teen is a natural-born surfer. He's a cool competitor, always trusts his instincts and never thinks about strategy. Raised in a caravan park, Eric (Ryan Corr) adores his mum, but tends to stretch the truth about his upbringing.
Ryan on:Surfing: "It's a lot of paddling, looking cool while holding the board, knowing what you're talking about and looking like we've been surfing forever - when we've only been surfing for a month!"
Being a Prankster: "If we're in a scene and the cast has to be laughing, I don't mind pulling faces at them. I'm a bit of a goof."
