Title: Jodi's St.Paul Review
Description: really long with lots of pictures!

jodi - August 10, 2005 08:03 PM (GMT)
Just a little warning that my pictures included in this review aren't the greatest. It took me a while to get used to taking pictures over and between people's heads. There are some decent pictures now that I've resized and fixed them though. If they don't show up for some reason you can see them in my photobucket: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/_jodi/ Here we go....

Friday night I slept for under 2 hours because I was so excited for the concert. Saturday morning I got up at 7 and my Mom, friend(Mandy) and I left for St.Paul at 7:30. We drove and got into St.Paul around 1:30-ish. I almost got us lost because I was giving my Mom directions. But somehow we ended up on the street that the Xcel Energy Center is on and we suddenly weren't lost anymore. Gotta love how that happens. We checked into the hotel and just hung around there for a while.

I tried to get a hold of Amanda (aiken4myclay) but had no luck with that. So my friend, Mandy, and I just decided to head down to the concert. Got there at about 5:15 and walked around until we got bored and decided to stand in the shade right by the doors. Turns out that was a good idea because we were pretty much the first people into the venue.

Very first picture I took of the stage. You can see that there was like no one there yet. Pretty good seats until all the other people sat in front of us.

The place started to fill up and these two people sat down on one side of us and introduced themselves. They were really nice and talked to us throughout the whole concert. Mandy and I went to go look for the place to buy things. I ended up getting a huge poster of everyone, a small Anthony picture and the big tour book thing. (Pictures of those below if you're curious)

When we got back to our seats Amanda had got there and I finally got to meet her. Lucky her got to meet Anthony earlier that day. It was awesome to finally meet her!

Picture of all the people to my left right before the concert started. I thought it was a cool picture. The whole place was pretty packed. Don't know if it sold out but there were a lot of people there.

Finally the concert started. Yay! I loved the dramatic intro with the AI music and all that.

Jessica was up first with The Boys and Back in Town and Shop Around. I really liked her on AI and I thought that she was awesome live! She did a great job! (Really bad pictures of her though because I was trying to figure out the best setting everything)

Anwar was up next with A House is Not a Home and What a Wonderful World. He has a really awesome and powerful voice but I'm not really a big fan. He did a great job though! When he was talking to the audience he goofed and pronounced Minneapolis wrong. Quite a few people laughed and he didn't really know why. lol

 Constantine! One of my favourites because he has so much stage presence. He sang Hard to Handle, My Funny Valentine, and Bohemian Rhapsody. The crowd went nuts over him, so loud and completely into his performances. So much fun to watch and Mandy, who has never seen American Idol 4, decided that she was officially a fan of his now. I think I have a video clip of Constantine, will upload later.

Next was Nikko with Incomplete, Part Time Lover, and Like I Love You. He was pretty good, but he seems a little too much like Usher. I think that if he's going to make it, which he can because he's talented, he needs to have something more original about his whole image. He's a great performer and I didn't mind watching him. (Can you tell that in the past couple pictures I finally figured out what I was doing with my camera?)

Scott came on stage next and sang Against All Odds, Total Eclipse of the Heart with Jessica, and She's Gone. I have never really liked Scott because of his attitude on Idol but he was pretty decent. Especially when Jessica came out for his second song. I loved that song and it was a great performance between the two of them. I felt bad for him because he got a couple boos, even though I don't like him doesn't mean I'm going to boo him. That's just mean and rude.

Nadia came out next and sang Power of Love, You Don't Have to Say You Love Me, and Try a Little Tenderness. She was good but I've never been a big fan of hers. I don't really remember her songs now but I remember thinking that she was okay.

Then it was intermission and I basically stayed in my seat. Got a really nice picture of me and Amanda (aiken4myclay if you're getting confused with Amanda and Mandy my friend).

Another picture of the crowd because they're fun pictures to take. This was what it looked like behind me.

Intermission ended and Anwar came on stage and started off with Superstition somewhere along the line Vonzell joined him on stage. I can't remember if it was during Supersition or for the next song Karma. I was a little excited for Anthony and wasn't really paying close attention at this point.

Her dress was really beautiful. I remember her singing I Have Nothing, Best of My Love, and I'm Every Woman. Again awesome performances just like everyone else. I really like her voice but I was so excited to see Anthony next!!

Lucky for me all my Anthony pictures were the best ones that my camera took. LOL My camera likes him as much as I do! He sang Every Time You Go Away, Can't Stop the Rain, and I've Got You. Got really good pictures during the first two songs because everyone had sat down because they were slower. I felt kinda stupid standing up taking pictures but I didn't really care. I was shaking so badly during Every Time You Go Away and really really close to crying. Got short video clips from all the songs and I'll post links to those later. Amanda and I snuck up really close during I've Got You and got some great pictures. You can tell which two those are. I was so sad when his performances were over because it was totally too short! He did such a great job! Especially with his adorable dancing in I've Got You.

Anthony introduced Bo next, who was another one of my kinda favourites. He limped out onto stage, poor guy. Sang Desperado, Vehicle, Sweet Home Alabama and that other song that I don't know the name of. Anyone know what it was called? He was really great and moved around the stage quite a bit for someone with a broken foot. I have a clip from Vehicle that I'll post later. Great performances by him! It was cool that he played the guitar AND the keyboard!

Carrie sang Sin Wagon, Alone, Independence Day and Inside Your Heaven. She was pretty good like everyone else. She's a great singer but I've never really been a fan of hers either. Nothing really interesting to say about her.

Carrie and Bo sang Bless the Broken Road and then everyone else came and sang Lean on Me and R.O.C.K. in the USA. I was so sad when the whole thing was over because it was such a great concert. Everyone had improved quite a bit and there wasn't really any point in the show where I thought someone wasn't singing very well. They were all great and it was definitely one of the best concerts I have ever been to!

I have the clips of Anthony up in the multimedia section if you wanna see those. Sorry this was so long but I just started typing and couldn't stop.

x-posted to IDF but I figured I'd post it here too.

AWESOME review! And I'm glad you had fun!

While reading this, I felt like I was there all over again. I miss those 10!

Good pictures too! My Anthony pictures didn't come out at ALL because he moved too much. Ha.

Thanks! I wish I could go to another concert because I'm missing it already! I'm so sad that it's all over :tears:

Well, Anthony will be running his own, soon, hopefully!

jodi - August 11, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
I sure hope so! I have to see him in concert again because three songs wasn't even close to enough. I just hope he comes somewhere close to me.
