Oh my goodness that Ace is a handsome young man! If Ace doesn’t wind up in the movies with those good looks, I’ll be very surprised indeed. And he cleans up quite nicely, too. I thought he looked rather debonair, if a tad Columbia druglordesque with the slicked back hair and ponytail. And while I wasn’t quite as blown away with his performance as Rod Stewart claimed to be, I did enjoy it. I thought the song suited him well and like the judges, I was impressed with his seamless transition to and from the falsetto. That is not easily done and Ace did it very well last night. Sadly, I think this will be Ace’s last performance night. According to the savants who track such things, Ace’s fan base is larger young pre-teen and early teen girls. I think that demographic will perhaps not respond so well to the more sophisticated look he adopted last night. And if they were not inspired to turn out in droves to vote for Ace, I think he will be leaving us tonight.
