None of the judges believe Ace Young pulled off his song, but I certainly do. He chooses to move out of his comfort zone to do We Will Rock You, and wants to change up the song a little bit. Brian May will not allow this to be done to his song. I understand that creative process thing, but perhaps then he shouldn't allow American Idol to do this music. Ace says when you do Queen music, you need to feel it, and not just hear it, which is certainly an Ace specialty. He joins the black leather revolution wearing black leather pants and a striped button down shirt. He definitely hot, and running around the stage doing a rock song, makes it all the better. I really liked him doing rock, and think it fit him, especially the few little changeups in the song he was allowed. I want to see him do more rock ... and wearing more leather would be nice too.

Mickey Dolenz of Monkees fame, out in the audience, appears to like it, but the judges definitely don't. Randy gives him only a 5 or 6, and says, "Sorry Baby; didn't get it." Paula talks about understanding Brian May not wanting his song to be bastardized. Bastardized? How bad could the changes Ace wanted have been? Now I want to hear them. She does appreciate Ace taking a risk at this point in the competition, however. Simon calls it an utter mess, and thinks the name of the song should have been changed to "We Will Rock You Gently." The voting tonight will tell whether Ace took an even further risk by dissing the judges slightly. He says he think he rocked, and he had a lot of fun. He just wanted to feel the crowd and come in and bring it home. I expected Simon not to like it, and possible Randy, but c'mon Paula.
