Next in line is ACE YOUNG who is all about singing Tonight I Wanna Cry by Keith Urban. Kenny feels that Ace is a passionate kid and sings with his heart, and knows how to squeeze a note and bring out the passion. High praise gets thrown around as Kenny crowns the combination of Ace and this song as the best match out of all the idols tonight. Wow, that would be credible if it wasn't directly preceded by what looked like it could be the back cover of American Idol XXX:



Dressed all in black, Ace is all about the singing on a stool tonight. Against all odds, the performance actually starts out beautifully, calm and controlled. Then Ace pulls a "Psyche! And you thought I'd sing it well... Sucker!" and starts to sound slightly whiny and strained because the song jumps a bit higher and his voice just can't take it. Despite the fact that it's a Country song by Keith Urban, Ace throws in a decidedly non-Country falsetto at the end. Not that it matters, because those voting for him are too busy ogling to actually listen to his voice, so he could burp his way through Lady Marmalade and still get the same number of votes.

Randy: These are hard songs to bring your own personality to. It was nice, really boring for me, but at least you showed a little falsetto in the end.
Paula: I think you have a knack for picking the right song for your voice, and when you go into the falsetto, that's your signich... sig... na... ture... and that's who you are.
