Sammy, the adorable little girl Ryan talked to, is very excited to see Ace Young close out the show. Ace is going to sing “In the Still of the Night.” He wants to do a jazzy arrangement, and Barry’s not so sure about that. Ace says it was a group song, so he needs to find a way to sing it alone. Barry ends up really liking Ace’s arrangement. Barry adds that Ace will end on a falsetto, which makes us melt. Cute Sammy introduces Ace Young!

Randy: “Ace is back tonight!” He took a classic song and brought something different and fresh to it.

Paula: She counted 34 signs proposing marriage to him. She says this was the sexiest, sultriest performance he’s done yet. Elsewhere in the audience, Constantine undoubtedly sheds a tear.

Simon: This weren’t the best vocals tonight, but it doesn’t matter- he won’t be in the bottom three. It was one of his stronger performances and was a hell of a lot better than last week.

Betsy: What kind of songs should Ace sing every week? My friend Liana says “sexy.” I think she’s right, and Ace sure was sexy this week. This was a total heartthrob performance, from the beginning to that melt-inducing falsetto at the end.

Ryan says Ace looked shocked to be in the bottom three last week. Ace agrees that he doesn’t want it to happen again.

That’s it for the performances, so Ryan shows us quick clips of all of them. Man, this was a good night. In a perfect world, I’d be buying singles this week from Mandisa, Chris, Katharine, and Ace.
