I didn’t see it coming but neither did any one else. It’s kind of early for a shocker so those who got shocked had better turn this into a wake up call.

Joining the ranks of EJay, Jim, Vanessa, Leah, and Lindsey was Melissa. Not a real surprise but I would say personally a disappointment. But that wasn’t the story of the night. The story was who was flanking her. A one time favorite Ace, and a favorite to go deep in the competition Lisa shared the bottom spot with her. I think I have never seen a man look as scared as Ace was on the stage tonight. Eyes wide like he was on his way to the firing squad. Not a hint of a smile. Lisa looked none to happy either. It didn’t do her any good not to hug Melissa on the way back to the couch. People remember that stuff. And that could put you in the penalty box again. Only one person in Idol history has been in the bottom 3 the first week and won the title. The closest anyone else has gotten was third place. Anyone else likely didn’t last 2 more weeks. I’ll let you think about those for a while whilst I rant a bit.

It was made more clear tonight than ever that you must set this place on fire every night this season. Don’t hold back. Although I don’t think Ace will have to worry for at least a couple of weeks he’d better find another “Father Figure” and fast. Lisa needs to break out and be remembered. I’m telling you guys out there she is suffering from Diana syndrome with the voters. Unfortunately this is not the season you can charge from this distance back and do a DeGarmo.
