Sorry this is so late. I did not see the show until yesterday. Since I know and you all know the outcome, I will not make redundant predictions. All in all, I thought it was a good and entertaining night.

TOP 9

Dolly Parton's music

Brooke - "Jolene" - I thought it was good. Suited her. Really enjoyed it. I liked the mini band behind her.

David C - "Little Sparrow" - He missed a high early in the song, but that was a minor point. He did a great job on the song, one that I am not familiar with. I agreed with Paula about the haircut -- his hair was very unattractive previously and it bugged me. With that out of the way, I could really enjoy him and this rendition of the song. Well done.

Ramiele - "Did I Ever Cross Your Mind" - She had some pitch problems and some good points. Generally, I wasn't moved at all by this performance. Was not at all surprised that she was eliminated. I actually enjoyed her singoff better than the performance. Ramielle had a lot of promise but she never delivered on it. Song choice, song choice. it's a mantra they all need to take to heart.

Jason - "Travelin' Through" - it was very nice - vocally sound. One of the times that I disagreed with Simon - I thought the song suited him well. I would buy a CD of Jason's if he gets a deal. I was glad to see that he was safe this week.

Carly - "Here I Come Again" - Another good vocal from Carly. This time I agreed with Simon - it was good, not great, and the clothes were bad. OK for hanging out with your friends; not good enough to sing for millions of people you want to vote for you. She could easily wear some very cool, edgy clothes and that would enhance her persona.

David A - "Smoky Mountain Memories" - very good vocal. Just beautiful to listen to. Great ending. The song and the rendition really touched me. His religion (Mormon) is very important to him and I'm sure that's why he chooses songs with a good message each week. That may not win him the crown, but I admire it.

Kristi - "Coat of Many Colors" - good vocal with very nice ending, but I personally am just very much over this girl. I (and many others) have been waiting for her to leave every week since the Top 12 started. I'm hoping it happens in the Top 8.

Syesha - "I Will Always Love You" - Nice vocal. She made a few subtle changes from Whitney's version, but still clearly the Whitney take which is usually not a good thing to do. Real good ending on the song as well. Not sure what else to say - she is good but I won't be upset when she leaves.

Michael - "It's All Wrong" - This is the best he has done all season. Very good vocal. The song suited him perfectly. He has a very bluesy side that I think he should exploit; this is the kind of music he should do. I have to think that his stock has risen this week with the audience at home (read: voters). Great way to end the show.
