Here we go - another Lennon/McCartney week apparently. Let's see how the Top 11 handles this.

The Top 11 - Beatles Part 2

Amanda - "Back in the USSR" - it wasn't bad - it wasn't great. I lost any fascination I might have had with her when she said in an interview that Idol was the only way for her (the fast track) because she wasn't willing to beat the pavement to get a record deal. I'll bet there are 10 others this week who would - plus another from last week who lost his chance. buh-bye any old time Amanda - hopefully this week though probably not.

Kristi - "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" - pitchy all over the place! Nice ending though, I'll give her that. I loved Simon's comment: musical wallpaper. it fits. This is the week for her to go.

David A - "Long and Winding Road" - He's baaaack. Excellent job - easily the best of the night. He changed it up enough to make it interesting but not so much to ruin the song. After hearing about his evil stage dad screaming at him last week, I was happy to see him bounce back with authority. Very well done.

Michael - "A Day In The Life" - Not great - not awful. (I'm afraid I'll be saying that too often this week) He has limited range, and he missed his first high note. I think he has been coasting and he will not be going home this week, but he needs to pick up and fast or he'll go prematurely.

Brooke - "Here Comes The Sun" - It was just OK - not as good as her previous performances. She looked very amateurish (which she is I guess). Safe.

David C - "Day Tripper" - It was good - interesting. I'm not as excited about him as the judges are. Safe.

Carly - "Blackbird" - It was a good vocal but I was bored. I didn't think the song suited her, and I am having difficulty warming up to her - this did not change that.

Jason - "Michelle" - It was good but nothing special. What IS special is Jason himself. Paula said it - he has a distinct charm.

Syesha - "Yesterday" - It was very pretty. She missed one high note but other than that, it was good.

Chikezie - "I've Just Seen a Face" - He changed this one up similar to last week. The difference is - this one didn't work. I liked the slow pace in the beginning, but he had some vocal gaffes. The uptempo would have been OK if he had played it straight, without the country twist. It was a bit messy. Might be in trouble.

Ramiele - "I Should Have Known Better" - Her voice sounded shaky here and there which was distracting, and her performance was wooden. She is much better when she hits the strong notes than the soft ones. Might be in trouble.

THAT WAS BULL****, shoulda been Kristy!

I have to think that Kristi will be next. She has been in the bottom 3 both weeks. She's just not special enough. But you never know - someone else might fall on their face and open the door for her.
