We are almost to the Top 12 - this is the last semi-final round leading up to the big show. Post your comments here.
I still say - not such a hot Top 24 group. Not the best ever. BUT - this week's guys were on the whole pretty good and worth watching so I am happy with that.
Luke Menard - "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" - This was OK, not great, and Luke needed something great to keep him in. While this may have been his best, it will likely not be enough to keep him in.
David Archuleta - "Another Day in Paradise" - This guy can sing. It was really good. Not as stunning as last week, but he is so safe.
Danny Noriega - "Tainted Love" - Danny's vocals were very good. That said, with him, there are SO many other factors that will go into whether he gets votes or not, begining with - girlfriend could be the Grand Marshall in a Gay Pride parade. I find him amusing, others will think he is strange.
David Hernandez - "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" - Great vocal, odd song choice. He may well be the best vocalist in the bunch but he is still a big stiff in his performance albeit better.
Michael Johns - "Don't You Forget About Me" - This was better than the last 2 weeks but he is not living up to his hype. He has to do much better. I can totally see him doing this type of song, although - um, Randy - it wouldn't be for INXS (Michael Hutchence) but for Simple Minds.
David Cook - "Hello" - Wow - he really changed this song up in a very cool way. For a little bit there I was thinking - what's that song? Oh, yeah - Lionel Ritchie. Well done.
Jason Castro - "Hallelujah" - Love the song. Love the vocal. Love the singer. The best he has done, and w ithout the guitar, too! He is so different, I really want him to stay around. Love him.
Chikezie - "All the Woman That I Need" - he has a mellow, very warm voice, but I felt the song was too big for him. I enjoyed listening though.
I was expecting certain things to happen tonight and they did: Simon made plain who he wanted out (Luke and Chikezie) and who he wanted to be sure to save (Michael, Jason) and gave the annual "find something negative to say about the frontrunner who is so far ahead he has no chance of being eliminated but I look fair" critique (David A). I think Luke is a goner for sure, with either Chikezie or David H joining him. But - this is Idol, and ANYTHING can happen.
My faves were David Cook & Jason Castro......Confesstion time: I fell a little bit in love w/ David Cook last nite!
