According to Dial Idol Michael Johns was in the bottom FOUR..SURPRISINGLY Jason yeager was in the 2nd spot!
Hard to say about dialidol. Sometimes they are eerily right and other times completely off the mark. I would guess that Jason Yeager in 2nd place is way more wrong than Michael Johns being in 6th place (with Jason castro, Chikezie, Danny Noriega, and Luke Menard behind him). it was not a great night for him, nor for the guys as a whole. Kind of boring really.
Michael Johns - "Go Your Own Way" - it was good - ish (as Danny would say). He strained for the higher notes. Not great. Looked good though.
Jason Castro - "I Just Want To Be Your Everything" - I really love this guy. he missed a couple of notes but I enjoyed it and really want him to stay.
Luke Menard - "Killer Queen" - tough song, bold choice - I thought it was good. Big improvement from last week. I'd like to see him stay but he is on the short list of those in danger because he had no early exposure. Those who did have early exposure have fans already lined up to save them in the early rounds. We shall see.
Robbie Carrico - "Hot Blooded" - his vocals were fine but I felt like he sucked all the life out of this rock song. It was more like "Cold Blooded". Plus I just found out that he wears a hairpiece. :o
Danny Noriega - "Superstar" - It was a good vocal but borrrring. Poor choice for him. He should be playing up his youth. IDK - he might be in trouble.
David Hernandez - "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" - Excellent. Solid vocal, he brought out the performance he was lacking last week, and he changed the song up enough to be interesting but not so much to ruin the song. Good job!
Jason Yeager - "Long Train Running" - I liked this. Good vocal, good song. Miles removed from last week. I thought the judges were unnecessarily hard on him. I'm guessing they consider him disposable and he got too many votes last week so they made sure to throw him under the bus this time. That said, I don't believe he is good enough to be in the Top 12 (Finals).
Chikezie - "I Believe To My Soul" - He was pitchy at the start but did really well after that. Good vocal, good performance, very relaxed. Again - much better than last week.
David Cook - "All Right Now" -Rock on, David Cook! Really good vocal and performance. This should advance him to next week.
David Archuleta - "Imagine" Tough song to do well; many turn it into a boring mess. Not so our David A.! His performance was the best of the night, no one else comes close. It was haunting and beautiful - he almost made it sound like a new song. Simon was right - 19 others need to look out for this young fella. And he is so dang cute and nice. Not sure he will win - but he will be around for a long time. If he isn't Top 3, that will be a shame.

Oddity w/week 20 (Guys) Data (Jason & Robbie)
Short Version
Due to some data anomalies Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico should be on the bottom rows of DialIdol's predictions page - below everyone except perhaps Jason Castro.
Detailed Version
Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico saw huge boosts from the West coast voting last night and that significantly changed the order they are shown in the predictions table (it did NOT effect the most important stat on that page - their DialIdol range).
This oddity appears to come from a user who seems to have detected all busy signals the whole night. Every single busy signal registered for both Robbie and Jason Yeager in California came from this user. Additionally - this same user never registered any votes. It is not my intent to include this data in DialIdol's sampling and I have taken steps to ensure that most of it will be filtered out in the future including in tonight's girls vote.
Jason Castro and all three of the Davids received similar boosts.
This year I relaxed some of the rules for accepting data such that DialIdol wasn't as strict about detecting these anomalies because last year DialIdol was too strict.
I did consider adjusting the scores of Robbie and Jason manually to push them lower in the table but I decided against this for several reasons. For one I have no way of knowing what the precise scores would be without this data. In the absence of that data I would be forced to pick an arbitrary number which would make this more about Jim Hellriegel's predictions than it would be about measuring the busy signal. Also - the effected contestants DialIdol range (the most important stat on the predictions page) remained unchanged by this anomaly. Though I may change my mind I continue to lean towards not modifying the data.
Thanks & sorry for the confusion.
