"It was awesome, better than I expected; and he looks and sounds so much better in person than on TV," Joni Damico said.
Young, 25, a singer from Denver, competed last season on the Fox show. Accompanied by a guitarist, he sang "Father Figure," a song he performed on "Idol," as well as his original song, "Scattered," while listeners sampled Edy's "American Idol" ice cream.
Young said this was the fourth of 11 concerts that he is doing for Edy's. "Every stop has been different," he said. "At the first one, it was mostly children and we had a lot of 5-year-olds. Tonight, they are all adults. I've been having a blast getting to meet the fans."
Young posed for pictures and talked about his "Idol" experience. The Damicos also won a 50-inch plasma-screen television. "That's what I wanted," John said.
"Ace's visit was want I wanted," Joni said.
