Here is a very good article about Ace and his charity work.

Ugh..the whole thing made me cry...My mom and I used to get food and clothes and gift certificates for this one family she used to do home-health care for?? And I mean neither one of us was anywhere near being three quarters over the poverty line- we were half, they were under it- and my mom and I STILL did the same thing Ace mentioned..oh we'd have all these treasures on their doorstep, and the looks on the little boys' and their sister's face were just priceless. We'd knock and run back to the car and watch from down the street. Then Eddie passed away and we don't do it anymore. But everytime we go downtown to see a musical or play? Eddie's dad let's us park in a really expensive lot for free. He says it's the lease he can do for his "Christmas Angels."
The part about "all I want to do is play basketball" really broke my heart too. Not sure why. Wonder if THAT was Ryan's meal ticket a long time ago??
Very sweet article. Thanks for posting.
