GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins will usher in their second decade of hockey at Van Andel Arena this October with the debut of the team's "Rockin' the Rink" Entertainment Series.

The Rockin' the Rink Entertainment Series will be highlighted by celebrity appearances by former Heisman Trophy winner and Detroit Lions running back Billy Sims (Nov. 4), Nickelodeon's Drake Bell from "The Drake and Josh Show" (Dec. 2), NASCAR "Chase for the Cup" contender Denny Hamlin (Jan. 13), "American Idol" Ace Young (Jan. 27), Roger Hazzard from A&E's "Sell this House" (Feb. 24), and a rising country music star (March 17), as well as a celebration of the Griffins' affiliation with the Detroit Red Wings (Feb. 3). The Griffins will retire their first jersey number during the Travis Richards Tribute (Nov. 24), and the New Year's Eve Extravaganza returns with West Michigan's largest indoor fireworks display.
