But the most surprising part of the tour for Young was realizing the power of fan energy from the first night of the tour.
“You’re walking out and you have 12,000 people in front of you and right when you walk out, it’s overwhelming to hear people scream even before you sing,” said the 25-year-old Denver singer. “They just want to have fun with you and it makes you perform just so much better.”
Young, who’s still not comfortable with his pretty boy reputation, says he has four brothers who will beat him up if he gets too smug. He’s most appreciative of the boost his celebrity gives his work with children’s charities.
